LOVE AND
KNOWLEDGE
Planted in the
garden of paradise are the tree of knowledge and the tree of life.
There was nothing wrong with the tree of knowledge; it did not kill
Eve’s soul. It was the disobedience that killed.
The trees
were planted by God and life comes through knowledge. And knowledge
comes through humble obedience. Because Eve disobeyed, she received
neither knowledge nor life. The three go together.
Thus the
apostle warns us that knowledge is given only to the humble; and
knowledge without humility puffs up.
He who thinks he knows a
thing or two, when in fact lives a life of pride, knows nothing at
all. But he who is humble receives knowledge that leads to real
life.
