THE WORLD

KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL

Thus, God placed Adam and Eve in the garden of paradise and told them that they may eat of all the trees except one, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.  The tree was  forbidden knowledge.  The knowledge was desirable and seemed to be good for it was the knowledge of good and evil.  But it was forbidden.

The tree looked so good that the only way Adam and Eve could know that it was forbidden was the fact that God gave a command not to eat of the fruit.  They had no other way of knowing that the knowledge was forbidden.

So, today, there are so many forms of knowledge that are being offered to us.  Newspaper, television and all other forms of communication are offering us all kinds of knowledge.  Now, which is allowed and which is forbidden?  Only by knowing the commands of Christ can we know.  Without this knowledge, we would be ingesting all kinds of knowledge which might be forbidden.

And this is the state of the world and, unfortunately, of the Church.  Because of failure to instruct her children in all the commands of Christ and how to obey them, the last instruction given by Christ to His Apostles, her children have been eating of forbidden knowledge daily.  And this has been the history of man, going from fall to the next fall. . .making our age more evil than the previous.
