GREGORY THE GREAT, POPE
St. Gregory the Great is one of the
greatest Popes in Ecclesiastical history. Every topic in Theology has
been taken up on the writings of Gregory.
Gregory wrote and ruled in the midst of
severe wars and dislocations, droughts, famine and plagues of gigantic
scale, heresies by the Arians and schism in Gaul and northern Italy.
Gregory lost his good friend, Queen Theodelinda to the schismatics.
Gregory's MORALS is his explanation of
evangelical spirituality, that is, the mission of the Catholic Church
suffering in a hostile world.
