THOUGHTS ON PRAYER

SCRIPTURES IS PRAYER
As St. Dominic went on his
travels, he would steal short moments of prayer. He would unobtrusively
stand with his whole mind instantaneously concentrated on heaven, and soon
he would be heard pronouncing, with the utmost enjoyment and relish, some
lovely text from the very heart of Sacred Scriptures, which he would seem to
have drawn fresh from Christ.
Those around him were
greatly moved by this example, when they saw their father and master praying
in this way and the more devout among them found it the best possible
instruction on how to pray continuously and reverently.
