THE MASS - A MEMORIAL

Since Christ was going to physically disappear, He left, sort of, a favorite photo, by which we can remember Him. This was a Sacramental presence that represented the PRICE He paid for our salvation.

Without faith in the passion, there is no salvation. . .so the passion must always be recalled.

The Mass has a past aspect in that it is a commemoration of the greatest act of love God has shown to man. It has a present aspect in that it is meant to gather man in oneness of heart and mind. And it has a future element in that it is also a Viaticum for our journey to God.
