PROPER CELEBRATION OF THE FEAST OF OUR LADY OF GUADALUPE
1. Our Lady of Guadalupe has been declared Principal Patroness of the
Philippines by Pope Pius XI
on 16 July 1935.
2. As such celebration of the said feast is an Obligatory Memorial, for
which entry in the ORDO 2001
is mistaken.
3. Herewith is the Proper of the Celebration of the FeaSt of Our Lady of
Guadalupe.

OBLIGATORY MEMORIAL
OPENING PRAYER God of power and mercy,
The Blessed Virgin Mary appeared at Tepeyac
to comfort those whom the world considers least.
Let her message of equality and justice
inspire us to welcome all as brother and sisters
and rouse us to do what is lawful and right
so that we may enjoy genuine and lasting peace.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son
who lives and reigns with you in unity of the Holy Spirit
God for ever and ever.
PRAYER OVER THE GIFTS Lord,
may the power of the Spirit
which came upon Mary and made her womb fruitful
sanctify the gifts we have placed on this altar.
Grant this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
PRAYER AFTER COMMUNION Lord our God,
let the sacrament we have received
always reveal in our lives the power of your mercy,
that we who commemorate in faith the Mother of your Son
may be saved by His Incarnation.
Grant this through Jesus Christ our Lord.
May the Blessed Mother protect and
accompany you in this pilgrimage of faith.
