REASON AND THE CATHOLIC FAITH
Reason is so important for one to have
conviction of his religion, especially the Catholic Faith. Chesterton,
a Catholic convert from Anglicanism, said that, if everybody sits down and
thinks, the world would be Catholic.
If one is emotional, it is more likely he will
completely miss the Catholic Faith. The Catholic religion, from its
first step to the last, consists of rational acts.
To reach the concept of one God, one has to
reason logically. The Greek philosophers, like Aristotle, reached the
concept of one God by logic and that amidst the culture of polytheism.
Truly it would be illogical to believe there are many gods. Why, they
would be fighting each other all the time and that precisely happened to the
gods of the Greeks.
