LAYMAN'S THOUGHTS
TWO
STATES OF KNOWLEDGE
There
are two states of knowledge. The first is the pure natural ignorance of
every man at birth; the other is when man attains the highest wisdom
only to find that he knows nothing, thus returning to the same state of
ignorance of childhood.
The
latter is a wise ignorance in that one knows he is ignorant, unlike when he
was a child. Most men have left the first natural ignorance but have not
reached the second. They are somewhere in the middle, possessed of
some traces of knowledge but deceived into believing they know everything.
Such in-betweens are the ones who upset the world and get everything in a
mess.
