GOD'S WILL
AFTER HIS IMAGE
God made us after His
image that we might be imitators of God. Man fell by disobedience. So,
Christ had to dispel first the darkness of our ignorance by the light of His
truth. And then He loved us first that we may love Him in return. It is by
loving us that God remakes us after His image so we can love the thing that
He loves.
St. Leo the Great

God wills all men to be
saved; but that is if they come to Him. For He does not will that they be
saved who do not want to be saved. He wills that they be saved if they
themselves also will it.
St. Ambrose

ON SUFFERING
It is not enough to accept the sufferings
God sends us as His will. We must accept it as He wills it, when He wills
it, as long as He wills it and exactly in the manner in which it pleases
Him. This way, even sufferings can be transformed into prayer.
St. Francis de Sales

ON THE DEATH OF A CHILD
I give thanks to Almighty God that He has
not considered me unworthy to be the mother of a child admitted into the
celestial kingdom. Having quitted the world in the white robe of his
innocence, he will rejoice in the presence of God through all
eternity.
St. Clotilda
