We beg you, O God, the God of Truth,

     that whatever we do not know of things we ought to know,  you will teach us;

     that whatever we know of truth, you will confirm us within; 

     that whenever we are mistaken, as all must be, you will correct us; 

     that at whatever truths we stumble, you will establish us;

     and that from all things false and all hurtful knowledge, you will evermore deliver us,

through Jesus Christ, Our Lord.

HAVE PITY ON ME

O Lord God, destroy and root out whatever the Adversary plants in me, so that, with my sins destroyed, you may sow understanding and good work in my mouth and heart; so that, in act and in truth, I may serve only you and know how to fulfill the commandments of Christ and to seek you. 

Give me memory, give me love, give me chastity, give me faith, give to me all things which you know belong to the profit of my soul

O Lord, work good in me, and provide me with what you know that I need.
