THE REFORMATION WAS NOT A REACTION TO
A CORRUPT CHURCH, IT WAS THE CONSEQUENCE
The Reformation started by Martin
Luther, at a time the Church was filled with ignorance, legends,
superstitions, corruption among the clergy and disunity, was not
meant to solve the problems of the Church, though that was Luther's
intention. It made matters worse. The division among men
increased. The reformation was focused on what we stand today,
a civilization based on good earthly life, possessed of great powers
to control the surroundings and even nature. And yet never was
man ever closer to self-destruction.
The Reformation was not aimed at
reforming the Church; it was geared towards total self-destruction.
It was the finale of a Church that was, for many years earlier,
Protestant at heart. With the Reformation, a large portion of
the Catholic Church merely declared itself divorced from the main
Church.
