THE CATHOLICS ARE REDUCED TO A SMALL
MINORITY WITHIN THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
The Middle Ages showed an upheaval
within the Catholic church that has continued up to this day.
Up to now, we are losing Catholics by the millions; while
those who have remained cannot brag that they have remained out of
conviction.
The deadliest attack on the Church
comes from an economic system first espoused by Protestant
Calvinists and happily embraced by rich Catholic businessmen.
And so, most nations who remained staunchly Catholic during the
reformation had gradually turned Protestant during the industrial
revolution. The Catholics were converted to Protestantism not
by doctrine but by a financial-economic system.
In the course of natural human events,
under such a virulent attack on the Church, one of two things could
happen. First, the Church could be reduced by her modern
enemies to impotence, to an insignificant size and to utter silence.
Or, secondly, she could react against her enemies, rise once more
and take the leadership of civilization as she has done in the past.
Since the Church is not earthly, both
can happen to her. . .and, in fact, is already happening to her.
Today, the true Church has been reduced to a small band, forgotten
and overlooked amidst the vast number of Catholics, returning as it
were to its origins with the Pope as her head. And, as God had
designed, every time the Church becomes unfaithful to her
Bridegroom, Christ Himself initiates a reform using men and groups
from whom no one expects a reform. But the reform will benefit
only a few, as Christ Himself prophesied.
